jujutsu kaisen season 1

Episode 1

Episode Title: “Ryomen Sukuna”

The first episode introduces us to the protagonist, Yuji Itadori, a high school student who has impressive athletic abilities but prefers to lead a normal and uneventful life. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he and his friends stumble upon a cursed object, a rotting finger, at their school’s Occult Club.

The finger is revealed to belong to Ryomen Sukuna, a powerful and malevolent Cursed Spirit who was once a fearsome and wicked sorcerer. Despite being warned about the dangers, Yuji’s curiosity leads him to swallow the cursed finger, hoping to ward off any potential evil effects it might have.

Soon after ingesting the finger, Yuji starts experiencing strange occurrences and visions. He is confronted by Satoru Gojo, a powerful jujutsu sorcerer from the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College. Gojo explains to Yuji that he has inadvertently attracted Cursed Spirits to him by consuming the finger. Cursed Spirits are malevolent beings born from negative human emotions and energy.

Realizing the danger he’s in, Yuji decides to accompany Gojo to the Jujutsu High School, an institution that specializes in exorcising Cursed Spirits and protecting the world from supernatural threats. At the school, Yuji meets other jujutsu sorcerers, including Megumi Fushiguro, who is initially skeptical of Yuji’s potential.

As the episode unfolds, a powerful Cursed Spirit emerges at the school, drawn by Yuji’s presence and the curse energy he now possesses. Despite being a novice, Yuji displays remarkable courage and resourcefulness in his attempt to protect his friends and confront the Cursed Spirit. This act catches the attention of Satoru Gojo and others, who begin to see Yuji’s potential as a jujutsu sorcerer.

The first episode sets the stage for Yuji’s journey as he becomes involved in the world of curses, sorcery, and exorcism, and it establishes the central themes of the series: the battle against Cursed Spirits, the exploration of human emotions, and the complexities of supernatural power.
