Your PC (or laptop) and your TV must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
If they are not on the same network, screen casting will not work.
Method 1: Cast Wirelessly Using Windows Built-In Display Settings (Best Method)
This method works on Windows 10 and Windows 11 and does not require any third-party apps.
Steps:
- Click Start → Settings
- Go to System
- Click Display
- Scroll down and select Multiple displays
- Click Connect to a wireless display
Windows will automatically search for available wireless displays.
- Select your Smart TV from the list
- If your TV asks for permission, allow screen mirroring
If your TV does not appear, make sure:
- Screen casting / Miracast is enabled in your TV settings
- Your TV is connected to the same Wi-Fi network
Why This Method Is Best
- No apps required
- Very low lag
- No major resolution issues
- Stable wireless connection
Disconnecting
To stop casting:
- Click Disconnect from the wireless display menu on your PC
Method 2: Cast Using Google Chrome (Alternative Method)
If the first method does not work, use Chrome’s built-in casting feature.
Steps:
- Open Google Chrome on your PC
- Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner
- Select Cast
- Click Sources
- Choose Cast desktop
- Select your Smart TV
Your PC screen will now appear on your TV.
Notes
- You may notice slight resolution or scaling issues
- Performance depends on your Wi-Fi quality
- Still works without installing any extra apps
Stop Casting
- Open the Cast menu again
- Click Stop casting
Conclusion:
Both methods allow you to wirelessly mirror your PC screen to a Smart TV without installing third-party software.
